The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is a U.S. federal law that was passed in 1998 to allow state and local officials to establish labor training programs and workforce development services using federal job training funds.
WIA provides workforce development services to employers, workforce professionals, job seekers, students and dislocated workers who qualify.
